The middle tiers connect to Oracle HTTP Server configured with WebPass or with WebGate.

The Oracle HTTP Server that is configured with WebGate connects to Access Server, while the Oracle HTTP Server that is configured with WebPass connects to Identity Server.

The Access Server and Identity Server both connect to Oracle Internet Directory, which connects to the OracleAS Metadata Repository.
